It is a cloth mat, folds up very small. It is easy to hand wash although i think it’s machine washable as well. It actually is very cool to the touch. I wasn’t thinking it would work as well as it does when i was first looking at it. I would definitely recommend this product.

The rug is made of silk, a fabric that is cold on its own, also some filling material and breathable mesh at the bottom that does not allow heat to trap. If you put your hand on the carpet, you don’t feel that it’s cold, but compared to standing on a regular mat or this one, the difference is noticeable. It is as warm as a floor. Cool, but not too much.

My kitten liked it from the first minutes. It’s made of fabric, which makes it much easier to use. I had those gel ones, and they would burst during all the playtime between my cats, and I had to change them. This one, being made of fabric, I believe will last longer. The fabric is quite cool; we haven’t had intense hot days in Brazil yet, but I think it will help minimize the heat a bit.
